Sleep Apnoea Testing.

Physician evaluated · Delivered remotely · Updated 2026

Most sleep apnoea is never diagnosed, largely because the old test meant a laboratory, wires, and months of waiting. This one is a ring you wear in your own bed for a few nights.

  • Tested at home over one to five nights of ordinary sleep
  • FDA cleared device, with results read by board certified sleep physicians
  • In network with most major insurance plans and Medicare eligible
  • Twelve months of ongoing monitoring after diagnosis

What It Is

Eighty percent of cases are never diagnosed.

Obstructive sleep apnoea affects a large share of adults and most of them do not know it. The reason is almost entirely practical: diagnosis traditionally required an overnight stay in a sleep laboratory, wired to equipment, often after months on a waiting list. Most people simply never went.

That barrier is what this removes. A ring, your own bed, one to five ordinary nights, and a board certified sleep physician reading the result. The condition did not become easier to treat. It became far easier to find.

Why this matters beyond feeling tired

  • Untreated apnoea carries cardiovascular and metabolic consequences
  • Sedative sleep medication can worsen the underlying obstruction
  • It sits underneath fatigue, poor recovery and stalled weight loss
  • It is highly treatable once identified
How It Works

A ring, and a few nights.

The whole design intent is removing the reasons people never got tested.

A Test Is Ordered

Step one · the consult

A virtual consultation establishes whether testing is appropriate. You size the ring through the app, and it is shipped to you.

  • Virtual consultation, no clinic visit
  • Ring sized through the app
  • Shipped directly to you

You Sleep Normally

Step two · one to five nights

You wear the ring in your own bed across one to five ordinary nights. No wires, no laboratory, no unfamiliar room altering the thing you are trying to measure.

  • Your own bed, your own routine
  • One to five nights of data
  • Results possible within days

A Physician Reads It

Step three · the diagnosis

Every test is analysed and diagnosed by a board certified sleep physician. This is a medical diagnosis rather than a wearable estimate, and the distinction matters.

  • Board certified sleep physicians
  • A diagnosis, not a sleep score
  • Reported at 98 percent accuracy

Treatment Follows

Step four · and continues

Where apnoea is found you meet a sleep physician to review the report and discuss options, which may include a custom fitted oral device, CPAP, or other approaches. Monitoring continues for twelve months and beyond.

  • Options discussed against your severity
  • Custom fitted devices among them
  • Twelve months of nightly monitoring
Why This Matters

The condition sitting underneath the others.

Sleep apnoea is not a standalone complaint. It runs underneath several of the things people arrive here trying to fix.

01

It overlaps heavily with weight

Published data indicates around 74 percent of adults with obesity have obstructive sleep apnoea, and most are unaware of it. Anyone pursuing medical weight loss without knowing their apnoea status is missing something that affects both the outcome and their cardiovascular risk.

02

Sedatives can make it worse

Sedative sleep medication relaxes the airway, which is the mechanism of obstruction. Prescribing one to someone with undiagnosed apnoea treats the complaint and worsens the condition. This is the clearest argument for testing before treating.

03

It undermines recovery entirely

Growth hormone release and tissue repair concentrate in deep sleep, which apnoea fragments. Someone can train well, eat well, use every recovery modality available, and still stall because of a condition nobody looked for.

Who It Is For

And who it is not for.

Adults aged twenty two and over, in all fifty states and Washington DC.

Anyone who snores, wakes unrefreshed, or has been told they stop breathing

People pursuing medical weight loss, given the documented overlap

Athletes whose recovery has stalled without an obvious cause

Anyone put off by the prospect of a sleep laboratory

People considering sleep medication, before rather than after

Not currently available to Medicaid members

How It Works

What actually happens.

Four steps, and most of it happens in your own bed.

01

Virtual consultation

A physician establishes whether testing is appropriate and orders it. You size the ring through the app.

02

Test at home

One to five ordinary nights wearing the ring in your own bed. No wires, no laboratory.

03

Physician analysis

A board certified sleep physician reviews the data and issues a diagnosis with a clear report.

04

Treatment and monitoring

Options reviewed against your result, with twelve months of ongoing nightly monitoring.

Frequently Asked

Questions answered.

Do I have to go to a sleep lab?

No. The test is completed entirely at home over one to five nights using an FDA cleared ring. Removing that barrier is most of why this exists, since the laboratory requirement is a large part of why so much apnoea went undiagnosed.

How accurate is it?

Reported at 98 percent based on the manufacturer's validation study against polysomnography. Every result is read by a board certified sleep physician rather than generated automatically.

Is it covered by insurance?

It is in network with most major insurance plans and Medicare eligible. Medicaid is not currently eligible. Coverage, copays and deductibles vary, and yours is confirmed before you commit.

How is this different from my smartwatch?

A consumer wearable produces a sleep score. This is an FDA cleared diagnostic device with results interpreted by a physician, producing an actual diagnosis. Those are different things and only one of them leads to treatment.

Who is eligible?

Adults aged twenty two and over, across all fifty states and Washington DC.

What happens if the test is positive?

You meet a sleep physician to review your report and discuss options, which may include a custom fitted oral device, CPAP, or other approaches depending on severity. Monitoring continues for twelve months and beyond.

What if it is negative?

Then you have ruled out the condition most commonly missed, and the conversation moves to what else is disrupting your sleep. That is a useful result rather than a wasted test.

Should I test before starting weight loss medication?

It is worth considering. Published data indicates around 74 percent of adults with obesity have sleep apnoea, and knowing your status affects both your cardiovascular risk and how well the rest of it works.

Who reads the results?

Board certified sleep physicians through our telehealth infrastructure. Longevity Gyms does not diagnose or interpret medical tests.
