What It Is

Several modalities, running at once.

Most of what we operate does one thing well. Hyperbaric oxygen delivers oxygen under pressure. Photobiomodulation delivers light at a specific wavelength. The BioCharger takes a different approach, projecting four separate inputs into the space around you at the same time.

It uses gas filled tubes to produce light across a broad spectrum, alongside pulsed electromagnetic fields, a range of frequencies, and layered harmonics. You are not connected to it and nothing is applied to your skin. You sit or stand within range, the cycle runs, and you carry on with your day.

Each of these exists elsewhere in the facility as a dedicated modality at a therapeutic dose. What the BioCharger offers is all four together in a fraction of the time. That is the trade being made, and it is worth understanding before you decide it is for you.

Light

Broad spectrum · gas filled tubes

Noble gases held in sealed tubes are excited to produce light across a broad spectrum, including wavelengths in the same family studied under photobiomodulation. Delivered as ambient light in the room rather than applied directly against the skin.

Voltage

Pulsed electromagnetic fields

Harmonics

Layered alongside the rest

Harmonic patterns are applied alongside the other three inputs rather than in sequence with them. This simultaneity is the defining characteristic of the device and the thing that distinguishes it from running each input separately.

The Mechanism

What is proposed to be happening.

We describe mechanisms rather than outcomes, and we distinguish between what is established and what is proposed. Both appear below, labelled.

Light and mitochondrial activity

Light in the red and near infrared range is absorbed by cytochrome c oxidase, an enzyme at the end of the mitochondrial electron transport chain. This is a well characterised interaction and the basis of photobiomodulation as a field. The BioCharger produces light across a broad spectrum, which includes this range but is not concentrated on it in the way a dedicated panel is.

Electromagnetic fields and the cell membrane

Pulsed electromagnetic fields are studied for their influence on cellular membrane potential, ion movement across that membrane, and local circulation. The literature here is substantial, though it largely examines higher intensity fields applied to a specific region rather than an ambient whole body field.

Simultaneous delivery

The proposal underlying the device is that delivering these inputs together produces something different from delivering them separately. This is the part with the least evidence behind it, and we will not pretend otherwise. It is a reasonable hypothesis rather than a demonstrated effect, and you should weigh it as such.

Preparation

  • Wear whatever you arrived in. Nothing needs removing
  • Tell our team about any implanted electronic device, including a pacemaker
  • No fasting, hydration protocol, or timing requirement
  • Bring something to read if you would rather not sit idle

The Cycle

  • You sit or stand within range of the unit, typically a few feet away
  • Our team selects the programme appropriate to your protocol
  • The cycle runs for around fifteen minutes without interruption
  • Most people feel nothing at all, which is expected

How It Fits Your Protocol

Prescribed, not selected.

The BioCharger is not something you book off a menu. It appears in your Circuit if your protocol calls for it, and your protocol follows from what we measure.

Step One

We measure where you are

VO₂ Max and InBody establish your baseline, and your consultation establishes what you are actually trying to change. Every protocol decision follows from that rather than from a preference.

Step Two

We build your sequence

Your protocol is assembled across the four systems. If Cellular Energy is a priority for you, this modality may appear in the sequence. If it is not, it will not, and we will tell you why.

Step Three

We retest

Sessions run and your markers are measured again at a defined point. What continues, changes, or drops out is decided on the data rather than on how a session felt.

Why light and energy reach the cell.

The BioCharger is built on two well characterised areas of cell biology. These are the peer reviewed papers that explain them, linked so you can read the source rather than take our word for it.

What actually happens during a session?

You sit or stand near the unit, fully clothed, for around fifteen minutes. Nothing touches you and nothing is attached. The unit projects light, pulsed electromagnetic fields, frequencies, and harmonics into the space around you. Our team sets the programme and leaves you to it.

Will I feel anything?

Most people feel nothing, and that is expected. Anything this category targets is cellular rather than sensory. We would be cautious of any modality that relied on how a session felt as evidence it had worked.

Is this the same as PEMF or red light therapy?

No. Those are dedicated modalities delivering one input at a therapeutic dose, with contact or close positioning. The BioCharger delivers several inputs at lower intensity as an ambient field. They complement each other rather than substituting, and if you want the stronger dose of either, we will book you into the dedicated session.

How often should I use it?

Where prescribed, typically two to three times a week. It is short and passive enough to include regularly, and most members fold it into a Circuit rather than making a separate trip for it.

Is it safe?

It is non contact and non invasive. Our team screens everyone before a first session. It may not be appropriate for people with implanted electronic devices such as a pacemaker or defibrillator, or during pregnancy, which is exactly what the screening step exists to determine.

Can I combine it with other sessions?

Yes, and that is how it is most often used. It pairs naturally with the rest of the Cellular Energy system and adds very little time to a visit. Many members run it alongside molecular hydrogen or immediately before a longer session.

Will this fix my fatigue?

We will not promise that. Persistent fatigue usually has a cause worth identifying, which is what testing is for. This modality may form part of a plan, but it is not a substitute for finding out what is actually going on, and we would rather you started there.

Why do you offer it if the evidence is limited?

A fair question. The two main inputs have real mechanisms behind them, it is entirely passive, and it carries very little downside for most people. That is enough to justify offering it as an optional addition. It is not enough to justify building a protocol around it, which is why we do not.

Is it included in membership?

Access depends on your tier. Circuits are the unit of membership, and which modalities appear in yours is set by your protocol rather than chosen from a menu.
